The first thing out of the decorations box
It's the first of December. The tree can wait until the weekend, but Santa goes on the mantelpiece tonight.
Once the lamps are low, the sleigh lights up warm white and the tune starts. Five reindeer out front, Santa at the reins, and the room feels like Christmas before anything else is up.
Why it works
The bit of Christmas everyone checks
One figurine that brings light and a tune to the corner of the room you dress first each December.
-
A glow for dark evenings
Warm white lights pick out Santa and the reindeer once the big lights go off.
-
A tune with it
It plays music as well as lighting up, so it gets noticed when guests arrive.
-
Made in resin
Santa, the sleigh and each reindeer are moulded and painted in resin, with the detail kept close up.
-
Goes beside the village
Sits on a mantelpiece, a sideboard or a shelf, or at the end of a Christmas village.
Compared
Lit and playing, against a plain ornament
A painted ornament looks lovely by day and disappears once the lamps go down. This one lights up warm white and plays a tune, so it stays the centre of the shelf all evening.

In use
A gift for the one who builds the village
Some people add a new piece to their Christmas village every year. This one gives them the sky above it: Santa already in the air, lit up and playing music.
It runs on batteries, so it can sit wherever the display needs it, away from the nearest socket.
