Rechargeable by USB, so there are no batteries to buy
Up to 80 hours of light on one charge
Three light modes: amber (3000K), natural (4000K) and cool (5000K)
Stepless dimming: hold the switch for a second and set the brightness you like
Flexible head that bends to the angle you want
Silent switch, so it does not click in a quiet room
Beam wide enough for the whole page, narrow enough to leave a sleeping partner alone

It weighs 46 g and the pack measures 130 x 100 x 20 mm, so it slips into a bag or a bedside drawer with the book. Pick amber for the last pages before sleep, or cool light for daytime reading. It is a light for pages, not a room lamp.

It also suits a bookworm's stocking or a birthday card swap: small, useful and easy to wrap.

Lights out, chapter not finished

It's late, the bedside lamp is off and you're three pages from the end of a chapter. Clip this on to the book, bend the head to the page and keep going.

Choose a mode for the moment: something softer for bed, something brighter for the train or the sofa.

Why it works

A small light for the page you're on

It clips on to the book, bends to the line you're reading and charges from a USB cable.

Three light modes
Pick the one that suits the page, from a gentle glow for the last chapter to a brighter light for daytime reading.
Flexible head
Bend it towards the words and the light lands on the page, not on the rest of the room.

USB rechargeable
Plug it into a USB cable, charge it and clip it back on. No spare batteries in the drawer.
Small enough to carry
It packs down to 130 x 100 x 20 mm, so it slips into a bag or a bedside drawer beside the book.

Compared

Clip-on light or bedside lamp?

A bedside lamp lights the room. A clip-on book light lights the page you're holding, and it goes wherever the book goes.

Compared with a standard bedside lamp, not with any named brand.
