The mantelpiece on Christmas Eve

The cards are up, the stockings are hung, and the lantern sits in the middle of it all. Switch it on as the light fades and the snowmen glow warm while glitter drifts past them.

Turn the music on when everyone's home. Keep it to the lights when the film starts.

Why it works

A snowy scene in a lantern

A bronze tone lantern with a Christmas village inside. It's the piece people stop beside on the way to the kitchen.

Glitter snowfall
Glitter drifts through the scene around the snowmen and the little trees.
Warm light
The lights glow warm from inside, at their best when the lamps are off.

Music or quiet
Play Christmas music, or keep the lights on their own. The controls sit on the base.
Ready out of the box
Nothing to put together. Add batteries, find its spot and switch it on.

Compared

More than a glass globe

An ordinary snow globe comes alive for a few seconds after a shake. This lantern brings light and music to the scene too, so it holds the room all evening.

Compared with a standard glass snow globe of the kind most homes already own.
